Alpine Ski Racing Program (D-Team)
Ages 6 - 18

Ages 9-18

The D-Team (Development Team) program is open to all skiers, regardless of ability, who are interested in ski racing. Skiers participate in both slalom and giant slalom events with racers from other ski areas. Practice and races are held on Saturdays beginning Nov. 25th through March 3rd.

The Powder Ridge Ski Team has an excellent coaching staff to help students learn to race and to fine tune their skills. All the coaches have training in ski instruction and ski racing. The many staff have years of coaching experience and continue their mission for the pure love of kids and the sport of skiing. There will be assistance and time with coaches to help new racers and their families get started easily.

The D-Team is an excellent way for young skiers and their families to further their skiing abilities along with developing new friendships. Requirements: Racers must have the ability to manage themselves while at Powder Ridge or at other ski areas we race at or have parent supervision. With the number of racers and the amount of space involved it is impossible for our coaches to supervise on a one to one basis with each racer. Racers must also be able to ride a chair lift without assistance and cannot hold a current USSA card.

Practice Time:
Saturdays: 10:00am to 3:00pm
Sundays: Noon to 4:00pm
(Race schedules are located in the team manual)

New This Season: We will be running 2 teams. There will be the regular Saturday Team we have had for many years and now a Sunday Team. With the new Sunday Team this will give racers that have had commitments on Satudays a chance to join and compete. The teams will run independantly of each other.
Saturday Team:
Racers will practice on Saturdays and go to races that are held on Saturdays.
Sunday Team:
Racers will practice on Sundays and go to races that are held on Sundays.

Team Coaching Fees:
$325 before Nov. 1st and $375 after Nov. 1st
Participation in both teams: $520 before Nov. 1st and $600 after Nov. 1st

(Coaching fee does not include lift ticket, equipment or transportation)
