The Minnesota Ski Areas Association (MSA) wants to give Minnesota kids a chance to get out, have fun and get healthy this winter by hitting the Minnesota Slopes!

MSA has created a statewide program that provides every 4th grader the opportunity to ski for free.   Your passport includes a minimum of two visits to each resort.  However, your passport will get you up to 4 visits at Powder Ridge with no black out dates! (*)
(*) 4th Grade Passports will NOT be valid when visiting with a Roving Ski School (Ski Jammers & Blizzard Ski Schools)

Please make sure you check with each area you will be visiting as many areas have restrictions including black out dates, times, number of visits, etc.

MSA charges $19.95 for the passport (to cover printing and shipping).

Why only 4th graders? Fourth grade is the perfect age to learn to ski and snowboard.  They have the coordination skills and muscle development to be able to pick up on the skills as well as adhering and following safety information. One age had to be chosen and 4th grade was the decision.  We are excited that we are able to offer this program to all 4th graders.

How will I know what the restrictions are at each area? Powder Ridge allows up to 4 visit per passport (no black out dates or time restrictions).  Please reach out to other local areas to find out what their restrictions are before purchasing the pass.

Group & Save

Thingstodo1Looking to bring a group, but don't have 15? Well the old model of needing 15 or more people to get a discount just doesn't work anymore. Our 'Group and Save Program' allows groups of any size. Best of all, the discount increases as your group grows! (For Adult Tickets)

Everything is done online!  Pick a date on the calendar, then decide what tickets you would like to purchase for youself, invite your friends and family via text and email, and as the group grows, so does your discount!

Each member invited to your group will be able to pay for their lift tickets individually and you will be able to see who has decided to join your group.  The day before your trip the group is closed, the final price is based on how many are in the group.  Each group member will be sent their ticket vouchers via email.  Just take your emailed ticket voucher to our front desk (located right inside the main entrance doors of the chalet) to pick-up your ticket(s).

Drones & Ski Areas

Drones are the cool new thing and it sounds like many will be given as gifts this winter. We think they are cool too but unfortunately most ski areas (Powder Ridge included) cannot allow them on or over our property. The reason is a safety issue. Imagine if you're skiing down a run and a drone distracts you and you run into something (or someone) or one startles someone on a chairlift and they fall or if one actually hits someone. The safety of our guests is always a prime concern of ours and drones and their operators are an uncontrollable factor that represent an unacceptable risk. We hope drone owners enjoy them and take a lot of great pictures - it just can't be here at Powder Ridge.

We had a super great turnout and time at our 1st Season Pass Holder Party this past Saturday! We had live music, an awesome appetizer buffet (it seriously never stopped coming..), drink specials and free pop and some really cool door prizes! It really was such a nice atmosphere to celebrate the upcoming season in Chester's with music, families and some familiar employee faces. We will definitely be doing it again next FALLINTER (ha.)!

Our newly remodeled ski shop was selling the new PR gear fast all day! Make sure you check it out on our FB page and get your stuff ASAP! We revived an old logo PR logo and it looks super're going to want everything. I know I did...and now I have everything...oops.

Season Pass sales go to FULL PRICE on NOVEMBER 1st! Get it now! Do not say I didn't warn you...I've spent a lot of time warning you...

Remember to keep checking our PR website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date on weather conditions, snowmaking and OPENING DATE information. Time is flying by and you'll be out here on the snow in no time! Stay in the know so you don't miss a single second of the season!

I wish I had more to say (personally, I have a ton to say...just ask my husband) but there is work to be done out here before we see you again!

Fall is upon us, Halloween decorations are coming out and there is a perfect, brisk chill in the evening air. We are starting to get things going out here at The Ridge and everyone is getting excited for the upcoming season. Just wanted to write a quick blog to keep everyone up-to-date of new events, deals and projects we are working on out here!

New merchandise is going to make you look like the coolest kid in class...the Ski Shop is where it's at for the latest PR fashion.

Powder Ridge is going to be having a booth in Crossroads for the holiday season...please come by and say hello to us!

For new projects, we are upgrading our fire pit in front of the main chalet and we are upgrading all of our equipment this year in the rental shop! Only the best for you!

We really want to integrate YOUR selfies, photos, etc. this winter so remember to TAG Powder Ridge and use #powderridge and #ridetheparks all winter long to see if you are featured on our Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or website.
