Can I bring or fly a drone?Due to safety and privacy concerns, Powder Ridge Ski Area prohibits the operation or use on or above Resort property of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by the general public—including model aircraft by recreational users and hobbyists—without the prior written authorization from Powder Ridge Ski Area. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within the area boundaries. This prohibition extends to any devices launched or operated from Resort property, as well as any launched from private property outside of the Resort boundaries. Please contact a resort representative if you have any questions or if you seek prior authorization to operate any such devices. Any authorized operation of drones on or above Resort property will be governed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately established by this Resort, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or releases of liability. Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your access privileges to the Resort, or the revocation of your season pass, as well as confiscation of any prohibited equipment, and may subject violators to any liability for damages, including, but not limited to, damages for trespass, violations of privacy, and physical injuries to persons and/or property, as well as legal fees.

What does my child need to know before going to a lesson or Kid's Club?As a parent, your main responsibility is to ensure that your child's instructor understands your child's skill level and that your child is dressed properly. Beyond that, just let the helpful instructors do their thing! They are trained to help teach new skills at any level.
How knowledgeable are the instructors?Your instructor will always be an advanced skier and will range from Professional Ski Instructor Association (PSIA) instructor to local young people who are passionate about skiing and snowboarding and have been trained to PSIA standards. Most often, young children will learn from well-trained ski instructors whose full-time job is to teach kids to ski. Powder Ridge can usually be selective in choosing their instructors, ensuring you or your child has a great experience during their lesson.
What's the benefit of a private lesson? If you prefer learning in a one on one environment or you want to improve your proficiency as a skier or boarder then a private lesson may be the best option for you. This more concentrated one-on-one instruction will allow you and your instructor to find of what you really want and/or need to achieve your goals! Our instructors are all advanced skiers and boarders who are passionate about getting you to fall in love with the sport.
How should I dress for my lesson? As you pack for your journey to PR, please make sure to bring your basic winter gear: snowpants, warm jacket, hat, scarf or neck-up and waterproof gloves or mittens. For your comfort, under layers should be comfortable and layer-able. Remember that you can always take off layers if you're too warm but if you don't bring enough, you may be cold! Other items you may want to grab: goggles, extra socks, boots, and sunglasses.
What's the best option for a beginner to intermediate between the ages of 4-12yrs?Check out our Kid's Club page under Lessons. This is a great option for young beginners and intermediates to get small group lessons with instructors who know how to teach the littlest skiers and snowboards the ropes. There is a private hill for the kids to learn and practice their new skills on. After the lesson they get a complimentary cup of cocoa and a donut in the private Kid's Club area. Registration should be made ahead of time as space is limited. Call today to reserve a spot or make reservations online!
Where is Kid's Club located? The Kid's Club is a private area where you can check-in, get rentals and prepare your little ones for their lesson.
