Junior Alpine Ski Racing Program (D-Team) |
Saturdays
Ages 6 - 18
The D-Team (Development Team) program is open to all skiers, regardless
of ability, between ages 6 and 18 who are interested in racing. Skiers
participate in both slalom and giant slalom events with racers from
other ski areas. Practice and races are held on Saturdays beginning the
Saturday after Thanksgiving and continuing through February. There will
be four races including one at Powder Ridge, with a championship race
at the end of the season. The remaining races will be held at other ski
resorts in the greater Minnesota area.
The Powder Ridge Ski Team has an excellent coaching staff to help
students learn to race and to fine tune their skills. All the coaches
have training in ski instruction and ski racing. The many staff have
years of coaching experience and continue their mission for the pure
love of kids and the sport of skiing. There will be assistance and time
with coaches to help new racers and their families get started
easily.
The D-Team is an excellent way for young skiers and their families to
further their skiing abilities along with developing new friendships.
Requirements: Participants must be 6 years old and not over 18; Must be
able to ride a chair lift without assistance; Must not hold a current
USSA card.
Practice Time:
Saturdays: 10:00am to 3:00pm
(Race schedule will be provided)

Team Coaching Fees:
$175 per skier if paid by Nov 1st, $200 if pd after Nov 1st (does not include lift ticket, equipment or transportation)

Lift Tickets:
A Powder Ridge season pass is required to be a team member.
